KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging and innovative lessons in Product Design, Game Design, STEM Design, and/or Computer Science, aligned with the MYP framework. There is plenty of scope for creativity and the department is keen to enhance the skill sets students in Design.
- Collaborative Learning: Foster an environment that encourages student participation and tea
- Extracurricular Involvement: Actively participate in and contribute to the school's extracurricular programs to enhance students' design skills and interests.
- Technology Integration: Utilize the available digital tools including Mac-based software, Workspace, Adobe CC Suite, Arduino, Swift Programming, Tinkercad and Fusion 360 to enhance t learning experience.
- Student Engagement: Inspire and motivate students through creative and hands-on project encouraging them to explore and develop their design skills.
- Assessment and Feedback: Provide constructive formative feedback to students and sum assessments that reflect their understanding and application of the MYP Design cycle
- Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with educational trends in design and technology
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A degree in Design, Technology, Education, or a related field
- Proven experience teaching Design subjects, preferably within an international or MYP context
- Strong understanding of the MYP Design cycle and child-centered teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skill ○ Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive school cult
- Proficiency in using design-related software and technology
- A genuine passion for design education and a commitment to fostering creativity in students
- Enthusiastic about experiential learning and innovative teaching practices
- Open-minded and adaptable to new ideas and approaches in teaching and learning.
