 About our school

We are a friendly, successful and vibrant two-form entry primary school situated on a large well -resourced site with an impressive outdoor environment. We achieved GOOD OFSTED judgements in all areas of our inspection in 2023 and our team are proud to continue setting high standards and academic achievements for our children as well as offering a supportive and creative learning environment. Our Nursery, Reception and Key Stage One children enjoy weekly Bushcraft sessions in our wonderful woodland area and our creative curriculum ensures that all our children have imaginative and high quality lessons. The school benefits from good support from parents and the local community. 

 The Role

We are seeking a Nursery Manager to provide safe, high-quality education and care for our pre-school children. We are looking for candidates with the imagination, energy and commitment to make a positive difference to our nursery/school. We would welcome applicants who are able to: -

·        Provide safe, high quality education and care for pre-school children;

·        Fulfil legal statutory requirements.

·        Lead and manage staff on a day-to-day basis.

·        Contribute to and implement nursery policies.

·        Form positive, supportive relationships with children, parents.

·        Work well as part of a team

·        Work proactively and use initiative

·        Demonstrate good behaviour management skills.

·        Be calm and patient.

·        Be intuitive and respond to the children’s individual needs.

·        Believe that every child can succeed.

Qualifications/Training

•        Minimum of Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Early Years Care and Education.

•        Proven experience of running a similar setting.

•        Willingness to work towards achieving a higher level qualification and/or early years professional status.

•        Ability to lead and manage a team of staff to deliver high standards and results.

•        Paediatric First Aid would be desirable..

•        Basic Food Hygiene certificate would be desirable

 Experience

•        Good knowledge of how children learn.

•        Ability to remain calm and supportive in unexpected and/or emergency situations.

•        Effective positive behaviour management strategies.

•        Flexible, self-motivated and enthusiastic.

•        Patient and friendly approach.

•        Ability to relate well to adults and children from all backgrounds and a wide range of ability.
