We are seeking a Nursery Nurse to provide maternity cover in our Early Years Department.

You will be creative and flexible in teaching support, with an enthusiasm for outdoor learning and for developing language through play. You will have an inclusive approach and a drive for excellence for all, including SEN. We need people who are patient, kind and experienced with children with high needs, including ASD.

George Mitchell School is aspiring to be an outstanding school, and we welcome colleagues who want to join us, and our students, on that journey. Behaviour for Learning is very good, and there is an enthusiastic emphasis on good outcomes for our students who hail from a richly diverse area, with many ethnic groups and languages represented. This, along with our modern building and large outside spaces make George Mitchell a fantastic place to work.

This is a lovely school. We have:

- A socially and ethnically diverse school community

- Lively, well behaved and enthusiastic children

- An ambitious and broad curriculum underpinned by reading

- A commitment to SEND and Safeguarding

- An approachable and supportive leadership team

- Friendly and dedicated staff

- Opportunities for career pathways

- A strong and supportive all-through school community

- A strong sense of purpose, certainty and clear school values

- A restorative approach to behaviour management

- Excellent public transport links and onsite parking.

Applications close Friday 18th October 2023 at 9am. Position to start as soon as possible.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Offer of a position is subject to receiving satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS Clearance.
