Vision and values

Oakhill School and Nursery's motto is "Faith stronger than the oak". The school values respect, honesty and a good sense of humour. Staff work to celebrate every member of the school’s community and believe every pupil has the right, and the ability, to reach their full potential. They also strive to provide a caring, safe environment and to instil a love of learning in each and every student.

The school provides a broad and varied curriculum. It provides lots of one-on-one support as classes are small in size and there is only one class in each year group. Core subjects, especially literacy and numeracy, are emphasised. There is a vast array of extra-curricular activities, from sports and music to the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and Outdoor Activities Club.

ISI report

“The pupils’ achievements and learning are good; standards of attainment have improved in recent years and they are outstanding in EYFS. From the EYFS onwards, pupils are successful in their learning and personal development, and they become articulate and confident learners. The school fully meets its aim to provide a happy, safe and stimulating education within a family environment in which pupils are challenged to achieve. Pupils make good progress as they develop positive attitudes, being eager to learn and displaying excellent levels of concentration.”
