London Borough of Newham Pupil Referral Units are a multi-site organisation offering education programmes for young people unable to attend their mainstream school. Our aim is to help remove barriers to learning through an individualised response to our pupil’s needs. We are trauma informed and attachment aware in our approach to working with our young people. We passionately believe in giving our cohort every opportunity to learn and succeed in our friendly, supportive school that has received the Nurturing Schools Accreditation.

We are now seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative Nurture Teacher with an

English specialism who can help us continue our successes and further develop our KS3 and KS4 curriculum across our provisions to both onsite and online students. The post may require the flexibility to work across sites.

This role will provide the post holder with the opportunity to join an ambitious department and work in a school that values professional development and creativity in approach. Applicants will be well-organised, inspirational teachers, who are passionate about inclusive education. Applicants will understand the barriers and challenges that our young people face, whilst also seeing the great potential within them and so will create opportunities for continued success.

Newham PRU is a well-established and successful pupil referral unit providing education for students who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and those who are vulnerable or have medical needs. At Tunmarsh school we offer on-site provision for KS3 and KS4.  New Directions PRU offers on-site provision for KS4 students who wish to access a more vocational and applied skills based education programme. We also work with students on ward at Newham University Hospital, Coborn and in the homes of students who, due to illness are unable to attend school.
