About the Role:

Hopewell School is seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist to cover a maternity leave position for one year. As part of our Therapy team operating across both sites, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with complex and challenging young people, demonstrating an intuitive understanding of their needs, and providing appropriate interventions within a multidisciplinary therapeutic framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess pupils' needs to identify areas where therapeutic intervention could support them effectively.
  • Develop and implement specialized therapy programs for pupils, evaluating outcomes and adapting interventions as necessary.
  • Provide advice, support, and training to staff members on managing communication, physical, sensory, and emotional difficulties.
  • Support pupils in accessing the full curriculum by providing in-class support as required.
  • Prepare reports, data analyses, and suitable materials to support therapy sessions.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration and licensure as an Occupational Therapist (ACOT/BAOT).
  • Proven experience working in schools with complex and challenging young people.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary therapeutic team.
  • Solution-focused mindset, bringing positivity, creativity, enthusiasm, and innovation to the staff team.
  • A clear understanding of pupils' needs and the ability to tailor interventions accordingly.
  • Specific experience in ASD and Sensory integration
  • Familiarity with the MOHOST Assessment tool
