Lower Meadow Primary is a forward thinking and rapidly developing school. We are looking for an Operations Manager who is organised, uses their own initiative and keeps us well informed with regular, accurate data.

This role supports the invaluable work delivered by the team at Lower Meadow, and is directly linked to the priorities of the school for the children and families we serve.

All of our children have the potential to reach their goals, and this is a unique opportunity for you to join a supportive, hardworking, caring team and be part of their journey. Every day is different, but every day is rewarding.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has experience of providing administrative support in a busy office environment and line managing a team
  • Has excellent IT skills, with the confidence to use Microsoft programmes such as Excel and learn new school systems and processes
  • Passionately believes that all children can achieve, no matter what their starting point, background or needs
  • Can work autonomously, prioritise conflicting demands whilst managing a diverse and demanding workload
  • Is highly organised, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of contacts effectively and professionally
  • Is proactive and flexible and approaches challenges pragmatically to ensure the best outcome for children, families and the wider academy team
  • Has attention to detail, and can utilise systems and data to find the best way to successfully support projects and tasks, whilst working in conjunction with the Senior Leaders of the school and Astrea Regional Operations Manager.

In return we offer:

  • Excellent CPD opportunities
  • A strong caring ethos and supportive team
  • The opportunity to make a real difference
  • Enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • An induction package
  • The opportunity to work during term time plus additional weeks
  • A school focused wellbeing approach which prioritises staff wellbeing
  • Networking opportunities across the wider Astrea Academy Trust team.

We welcome and encourage visits to the school to experience the atmosphere, ethos and approach and to have an opportunity to meet the children and staff who make Lower Meadow a great place to be.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch to arrange a visit to the school or to find out more – enquiries@astrealowermeadow.org - 01142372700.

If you are joining us from another school, academy or trust we recognise your continuous service date with confirmation from your current employer. This can positively impact a number of entitlements, including increased annual holiday payments which represent an increase in salary. This can be discussed in more detail at interview.

Astrea Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts are subject to satisfactory background checks including references and enhanced DBS checks.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response. Interviews will be held as soon as possible after the closing date.

About Lower Meadow Primary Academy

I am proud to be the Principal of Lower Meadow Primary School; our pupils are determined, enthusiastic and keen to learn more. They are a pleasure to work with and staff and children alike enjoy coming to school each day. Visitors to school often comment on the calmness and scholarly nature of our children.

The pastoral and academic achievements of our children are our highest priorities and we pride ourselves on making every minute count. We provide a varied, relevant and interesting curriculum and include opportunities for the children to learn through first hand activities. Through this we aim to develop lifelong learners who have the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for the next stage of their learning journey and for their future life. We are a highly inclusive school with a reputation for nurturing children so that every child can achieve their potential. We are proud of the support we give to each and every child from our dedicated teaching and support staff.

We strive to ensure our children embody our school values both inside and outside of school. These values are Tenacity, Empathy, Curiosity, Happiness and Scholarship. We base our assemblies and rewards around our values to ensure they are high-profile and understood by all children.

The best way to truly know a school is to visit and I warmly welcome tours of our wonderful school (COVID restrictions pending). For current parents, this website contains information and documents to complement the communication through our Parent App (MCAS), emails, Twitter and half termly newsletters. Please do contact the School Office if you have any further questions.

Lower Meadow Primary Academy is part of the Astrea Academy Trust and serves children from the communities of Batemoor, Jordanthorpe and Lowedges.

The Astrea vision enables individual academies to flourish with real autonomy, whilst also ensuring a strong ethos of support and collaboration.

If you would like to visit our school, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will make an appointment for you. Telephone 0114 2372700. We look forward to meeting you.
