The TCAT Outdoor Education Centre, located on Holy Island in Anglesey, provides a transformative outdoor education experience for children and young people, fostering personal development, teamwork, and environmental awareness. 

The Challenge Academy Trust is seeking a skilled Centre Manager who will be responsible for the general management of the facility and management/delivery of the outdoor educational delivery including staff, safety management, resources and programme.

Ideally possessing relevant qualifications such as Mountain Leader Training, Single Pitch Award and Water Sports qualifications; the Centre Manager will ensure the safe and purposeful operation of the facility (managing cleaning, maintenance, statutory/mandatory inspections and catering services) and collaborate with educators and outdoor experts to design engaging, educational programmes and regularly update activities to align with curriculum requirements.

The post holder will be required to live on site at the centre, with flexibility in working hours based upon centre bookings/activities and maintenance schedules. Travel to our headquarters in Warrington, Cheshire may also be required.

What we need:

  • You will be expected to ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and professional manner linked to high quality learning outcomes.
  • You will need to be an excellent communicator with good people skills. You should be able to manage groups in potentially challenging situations.
  • A holder of formal and relevant outdoor education qualifications.
  • Willingness to relocate to Anglesey.
