Clifton College are looking for an Outdoor Education Coordinator on a fixed-term (maternity cover) basis, to oversee the running of the Outdoor Education Department, including: overseas expeditions, The Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE), The Outdoor Pursuits programmes, activities, and the Terriers (Year 9 activities programme).

 

The Outdoor Education Coordinator (maternity cover) will also be responsible for the management of the staff within the Outdoor Education department.


What you’ll be doing

 

●        Develop opportunities for adventure activities within Outdoor Educational and practical observation for Physical Education

●        Manage the Outdoor Education budgets.

●        Manage and instruct the Bronze and Gold DofE expedition programme (programming, bookings, staffing, budgeting, paperwork etc)

●        Manage and instruct on overseas expedition.

●        Regular kit maintenance and logs in compliance with health and safety regulations.

●        Clifton College DofE Manager.

●        Co-curricular activity report writing once a term

●        Writing and performing dynamic risk assessments where applicable.

●        Using Evolve to facilitate the safe running of offsite activities

 

Key Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

 

Essential:

 

●        A portfolio of higher level NGB Awards in Outdoor Education

●        MTA Mountain Leader (Summer) Qualification

●        MTA Rock Climbing Instructor (minimum)

●        Current First Aid qualification (preferably an outdoor specific qualification.)

●        Driving Licence (with entitlement to drive minibuses and ideally a trailer licence)

 

This is a full-time, fixed-term (maternity cover) position and the rate of pay is £28,000 - £30,000 per annum commensurate with experience. The expected start date for this position is 1st January 2024, for a fixed term ending 5th July 2024
