The Apex centre is an offsite provision proving support and therapeutic services to vulnerable students attending the Bridgwater college Academy trust of schools. Catering for students aged 5-16 set in its own 22-acre site with a small holding, gardens, and Forest school This off site provision will be opening in September 2021 to its first cohort of students.

27.5 hours per week: Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year (term time plus INSET days)

Salary: BTCT points 3, Actual starting salary £12,085 per annum

The Apex centre is seeking to appoint an outdoor Learning Support Assistant to join our new team of support and teaching staff who are responsible for developing the skills and unlocking the potential of young people who are at risk of permanent exclusion from their educational setting. This is a chance to work in a new and exciting provision providing a bespoke curriculum to match each individual learners needs.

The post includes mostly working outdoors in the gardens, forest school or with our small collection of animals. This role provides the opportunity to make a real difference to individuals who deserves every success in life.

Successful candidates will be educated to at least GCSE (or equivalent) grade C in English and maths and will be committed to building strong relationships with others and putting the students first.
