Due to the exciting acquisition of a nearby purpose-built campus, our highly sought after school, Dubai British School – Emirates Hills, is undergoing expansion and growth. Dubai British School Emirates Hills are therefore thrilled to commence the search for a Deputy Head Teacher (EYFS/KS1) to join our thriving school, set in the heart of the Springs Community, in Dubai. 

Dubai British School Emirates Hills are currently recruiting for an exceptional professional to become the Deputy Head (EYFS/KS1) commencing August 2025. 

This is an exceptionally rare and incredibly exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified professional, who is innovative, cognitively agile, and wholeheartedly committed to providing outstanding learning experiences that meet the needs of all children.  They will play a crucial role in being responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the EYFS/KS1 establishment.  They will be dedicated to continual professional learning, as well as passionate about building culture and community. 

Successful candidates will form a critical element of the Senior and Primary Leadership Team at Dubai British School Emirates Hills, and will be expected to embrace and embody our vision of ‘Enjoy, Aspire, Achieve’, whilst continually support the growth and development of our learning community within the EYFS / Key Stage.

Deputy Head – EYFS/KS1  

We seek a dynamic and experienced leader to join our Leadership Team and contribute to the continued excellence of DBSEH.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Leading, modelling and maintaining exceptionally high standards across all aspects of the EYFS and Key Stage 1 phases, contributing to the overall success of the Primary phase. 
  • Collaborating with the Deputy Head of Primary (whole school) and Core Subject Leads to ensure curriculum design is effectively translated into high-impact, innovative classroom practices, aligning intent with implementation to support outstanding student outcomes. 
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the wider leadership team, including Middle Leaders and Assistant Headteachers, as well as support the induction of new teachers.  
  • Set clear expectations of highly effective learning environments that are fully conducive to producing the highest standards of teaching and learning.  
  • Lead the design and implementation of a forward-thinking Professional Learning programme for Teachers and Learning Assistants, fostering continuous improvement, career progression, and the development of future school leaders. 
  • Drive initiatives that support the school’s commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and sustained excellence in teaching and learning, ensuring alignment with the broader strategic vision. 
  • Lead on the implementation and monitoring of exceptional safeguarding practices and continuously review the effectiveness of our safeguarding systems.  
  • Promote and model exceptionally high levels of student wellbeing, care and support.  
  • Innovate, monitor, support and track staff and student wellbeing.

Professional Requirements 

Due to KHDA regulations, we only employ individuals with approved teacher status as well as a degree in their teaching subject area. 

·       High Quality Degree in Primary Teaching. 

·       Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. 

·       Minimum 5-10 years’ experience teaching the National Curriculum for England in the UK. 

·       An individual with confidence and a proven track record of outstanding results in a middle or senior leadership role.

·       Cleared Police and Safeguarding Background Checks*.

These opportunities are shared monthly and are targeted at all staff, new and returning.  

Our bespoke DBSEH standards offer a framework for professional support and challenge. Promoting staff agency, you are put in the driving seat of your professional learning and through coaching conversations with a leader you decide the pathway you want to take to professional excellence, whether this be through self-directed learning such as an action research project or through more formal accredited routes such as the NPQ suite of qualifications, subsidised by the school.
