Job overview
We really believe that behind every great leader is a greater personal assistant!
Following the formation of our new multi academy trust - Aston University STEM Education Academy Trust and the promotion of existing post holder to Executive Assistant to the CEO, we are seeking two new PAs for our two schools Aston University Engineering Academy, Birmingham’s University Technical College (UTC) and Aston University Mathematics School (Pre-opening).
An experienced PA, you will ensure that the Head of the UTC or Head of the Mathematics School have excellent administrative support, enabling them to focus on running the school efficiently and effectively. You will be an excellent organiser and communicator with a proactive and friendly attitude. You will have good literacy and IT skills, multi-tasking ability and flexibility to work in this dynamic and ever-evolving school environment, and will work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
If you apply for this job, you will be considered for either role (at the UTC or the Maths School) as part of the recruitment process based on the best skill set and experiences and in agreement with successful candidates. Please see job descriptions for both roles attached.
The UTC's success has been recognised nationally including the Secretary of State awarding an expansion in September 2023 to 900 students, and a new dedicated building with further STEM specialist facilities, including £350K simulation hospital, Goldsmiths Institute Jewellery Centre and Optical Science laboratories. This underpins the impact of the UTC recognised by our Ofsted inspection with inspectors stating our specialist employer work and destinations are 'exemplary' with the UTC being Good with Outstanding feature.
As well as our own outstanding facilities, our location next to our sponsor Aston University means that we can access resources, and teaching and learning spaces like no other school. (About Aston University Engineering Academy)
