About The Roseland Academy

The Roseland Academy is a high achieving school with a fantastic staff team situated on the beautiful Roseland Peninsula on the south coast of Cornwall. The area offers an outstanding quality of life, with beautiful beaches, countryside and the historic city of Truro all within easy reach.

We nurture, challenge and inspire every child to reach their potential.  We are an aspirational school that provides a broad and balanced curriculum matched to our students’ needs.  We achieve academic success as well as developing students’ emotional and social wellbeing through an exciting and varied school programme.

The Roseland is a small community-centred school of around 640 students.  Each year we continue to be oversubscribed in every year group. Our ethos is that students achieve their best when they enjoy their learning.  We plan lessons, events and activities that engage our students, challenge them and encourage their thirst for learning.  We have high aspirations and our staff, parents and students aim high with us.

The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all our students.  We encourage them to follow the EBACC GCSEs that include languages, the Sciences and Humanities.  Our curriculum engages students and offers a wide variety of subjects including Music, Drama, Photography, Media and much more.  We also have a range of vocational courses on offer such as Engineering, Business Studies, Physical Education, ICT and Animal Care on our unique farm.   There is an exciting and inspiring extracurricular programme.  The school runs and develops its own Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. The creative and performing arts have an amazing array of extracurricular events and activities.  Although we are a small school we compete well in many sporting events. There are a range of sports, Science, film and games clubs also on offer.

The Roseland Academy feels proud to be part of The Roseland Multi-Academy Trust which consists of three secondary, two small primary schools and a teaching school hub. Within the Trust we have been successful in establishing a Teaching School Hub through the recognised outstanding provision provided by The Roseland Academy. In Cornwall, the East Cornwall Teaching School Hub works in partnership with the West Cornwall Teaching School Hub, creating OneCornwall Teaching School Hub. This collaboration has been driven by leaders of education in Cornwall to ensure that all schools have access to the highest quality CPD and teacher training opportunities through OneCornwall. The establishment of the Teaching School Hub has created exciting opportunities for our staff.

We recognise the importance of ensuring staff within our Trust feel valued, and their work is recognised and celebrated. We invest and plan our CPD to ensure quality and opportunity for development. Through our staff development processes, we encourage every member of staff to lead in their role and firmly believe success starts with a great team.
