Pinc College is seeking to appoint a part time Communication and Interaction Specialist working across our campuses based in Yorkshire.
Actual Salary: £21,000 pa
Hours of work: 9 am to 4 pm, 3 days per week (21 hours pw), term time only.
To commence Jan 2025.

Role description
- carry out visits to each campus on a rotational basis
- observe specific students for an identified reason and then feedback in de-brief with actions for team
- model communication strategies as stand-alone or as part of group sessions
- observe and work with team members to develop specific communication strategies that will support them in their work with students
- facilitate solution-focused discussions about campus issues or a student's difficulties
- advise on resources that team has created
- advise on pre-made resources for a particular topic or reason
- reinforce a communication focus based on current research and good practice
- participate in team briefings
- model and identify best communication practice throughout the day
- Where appropriate have 1:1s with students to explore with them, for example, aspects of neurodivergence or anxiety, or help to work through what their neurology means to them
- Create and develop college specific training as required
- Participate in frequent informal support via SEND and C&I Team communications and meetings
Essential Criteria
- Background should be, ideally, clinical speech and language therapy with experience and a strong interest in the neurodiversity paradigm
Desirable Criteria
- Two years post qualification
You will be part of a team who educate, safeguard and support neurodiverse students, (16 – 25 year olds).
