Job Summary:

Lucerne International School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time German Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will focus on teaching German to beginners, preparing them to progress to IGCSE German. This role requires close collaboration with our existing German teacher, who teaches IGCSE and A Level courses. The ideal candidate will have experience with the British International Curriculum and be capable of supporting students through personalised learning pathways.

 

Key Responsibilities:


- Beginner-Level Instruction: Teach German to students starting A0 TO A1/2 on the CEFR framework, preparing them to advance towards IGCSE German.

- Personalised Learning Support: Guide and support students through individualised learning pathways, ensuring they progress at their own pace according to their specific needs and levels.

- Lesson Planning: Plan, organise, and schedule course content and exam preparation for students working at different paces.

- Content Creation: Develop lesson plans, create educational content and worksheets, and lead students through interactive lessons.

- Student Progress Monitoring: Write reports and reflections, maintaining a strong understanding of each student’s progress.

- Classroom Environment: Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and learning.

- Collaboration: Work closely with the existing German teacher to ensure continuity and alignment in the German language curriculum from beginner to advanced levels.


Qualifications:


- Required:

 - A relevant teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).

 - Fluency in English (C2 level or native level speaker).

 - Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

 - A passion for education and a commitment to student success.

 - Ability to provide a recent police clearance record.

 - Two written references.


- Highly Desirable:

 - Experience teaching GCSE and A Level courses, preferably within the British International Curriculum.

 - Experience in a hybrid-learning environment, with the ability to effectively integrate online and face-to-face teaching.
