Job overview

Dubai British School Jumeirah Park Foundation are currently recruiting for a Part-time Learning Assistant (2 days per week) for an immediate start.

We are looking to appoint a Learning Assistant (LA) to work collaboratively as part of a class and year group team. The successful candidate will work in partnership with the class teacher, and ILSA if required, to create an inspiring learning environment to evoke children’s interests and promote child-led learning. The role of the LA will be to interact with children in a way that scaffolds their learning whilst also ensuring their care and wellbeing needs are met consistently.

The successful candidate will take an active role within their respective year group and wider school community and will demonstrate professionalism, participation, collaboration, and reflection of practice. 

Job specification

  • To work collaboratively with the class teacher and ILSA if required.
  • Involvement in planning and assessing children’s learning.
  • Creating inspiring and enabling environments with the respective teams, both indoors and outdoors.
  • To support with resource and classroom organisation. 
  • To lead, where necessary, and support small group sessions.
  • To have direct communication with parents of children in their class.
  • To support with wider school responsibilities when required.
  • To take an active role in improving own professional development with the support of Year Leader and Line Manager.

 

Requirements:  

  • Minimum A - Level or equivalent (certificate has to be MoFA attested)
  •  A self- aware, reflective, collaborative and proactive practitioner.
  • Drive and enthusiasm to support children with an inclusive approach.
  • High expectations that motivate students.
  •  An understanding of child development 0-5 years.
  • A passion for play-based and child-led learning.
  • Open and approachable, able to communicate with parents in a positive manner that builds partnership.
  • Excellent communication skills and organisational skills.
  • Positive attitude and approach to managing behaviour, wellbeing, and supporting children with SEND.

As this is a locally hired position, the school will not sponsor you for UAE residency purposes. You are required to have a valid UAE Residence Visa.
