Devonshire House is a large co-educational prep school in Hampstead, North London. Summary of the role

The post holder will work closely with the Head of PE & Games to ensure the PE & Games provision at Devonshire House remains at a consistently high standard, with high quality PE & Games lessons across all the relevant year groups.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· To help with the organisation and transporting of teams and equipment for the following Sports: Football (Boys), Rugby (Boys), Netball (Girls), Cricket (Boys & Girls).

· Duties will include preparation, coaching, refereeing/umpiring of some or all of the main sports listed. Teams range from Under 8- Under 13.

· Help deliver the highest standard of teaching in the PE & Games department.

· Be prepared to teach PE & Games across KS1, KS2 and KS3

· Deliver well planned PE & Games lessons that build on the needs of each pupil.

· Demonstrate a passionate commitment to PE & Games and a pursuit of excellence in collaboration with colleagues and students.

· Set high, clear, and consistent expectations, to create an environment which allows all children to thrive and feel confident to make contributions.

· Adhere to the relevant Health and Safety Policies and produce risk assessments as required and contribute to any relevant policies where required.

· In collaboration with PE & Games Teachers regularly review lesson plans and delivery.

· Maintain effective communication with the Head of PE & Games and relevant colleagues within the Games department to contribute to student assessment and evaluations.

· Differentiate lessons appropriately to ensure every pupil has the opportunity to experience success.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

· Good level of ability to teach in as many areas as listed above.

· High level of honesty, integrity and flexibility.

· Be able to work cohesively within a large department across multiple sites, Stone X Stadium, North London Cricket Club, Georgians Tennis Club and school facilities.

· Ability to reflect, review, learn and change if appropriate.

· Good sense of humour.

· Work independently showing good initiative.

Devonshire House Preparatory School is situated in the heart of Hampstead. The School has five Victorian premises with charming grounds and walled gardens. The Early Years starts in the Oak Tree Nursery (ages 2 – 3 ½ ) and is based at 6 Arkwright Road.
