We are currently looking to appoint a Part time PE Teacher to join our wonderful teaching team. This is a great opportunity for a passionate and well qualified PE teacher to join our school. With our school thriving and increasing numbers we require a PE teacher to join us in April. You will be teaching our hard working and outstanding pupils.
We are looking for a PE teacher who will be able to enthuse our pupils and offer them an excellent classroom experience. This role would be suitable for experienced teachers or those starting out in their career. This Part time role will be for 20 hours per week, term time only.
As our PE Teacher you will be responsible for the provision of PE at Danesfield Manor, our facilities and equipment will allow a wide range of activities and sports to be taught. The ability to teach a range of sports is essential, pupils currently enjoy a varied number of sports including hockey, netball, gymnastics, football and athletics.
Located in Walton on Thames, Danesfield Manor School is a one form entry school educating boys and girls from the age of 2 – 11 years of age. With strong values and growth mindset approach to learning, we empower our pupils with excellent knowledge, extensive vocabulary and innate confidence. We believe that a values based education enriches our teaching and learning, allows our pupils to achieve beyond their own expectations and prepares them for their life-long journey beyond Danesfield.
The successful candidate should be passionate about children’s learning and the value of PE in the school curriculum.
We are looking to appoint a PE teacher who is able to demonstrate the following;
- Be a passionate PE teacher or someone with a PE background
- Be confident about teaching a broad range of sports and activities and is keen to develop professionally
- Have experience of teaching Key Stage 1 or 2
- Share the schools values.
- Be dynamic, self-motivated and flexible
- Have high expectations of pupils’ attainment, progress and behaviour
- Have strong digital skills – for enhancing learning and work efficiency
- Have a personal philosophy of teaching which reflects our approach
- Work effectively as part of a team, building positive relationships with colleagues
- Plan effectively and is sensitive to the learning needs of pupils of different abilities
- Regularly assesses pupils’ work formally and informally, using Assessment for Learning strategies
- Be approachable and confident in dealings with pupils’ parents and external agencies
- Have good administration skills
- Have good class management skills
- Be enthusiastic, innovative and creative with a commitment to the extra-curricular life of the school
