Oxford House is a Montessori Nursery and Preparatory school for girls and boys aged 2.5-11 years. Founded in 1959, this intimate and exclusive school offers every child a complete education that puts a high emphasis on traditional values and the child-centred learning of the Montessori Method.


The school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Performing Arts Lead to join our fantastic team starting part-time in September 2024. This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a high achieving school with well-motivated children and small class sizes. The successful candidate will be suitably qualified, keen and enthusiastic, with high expectations of pupil progress.

About the role

  • To lead music lessons and activities across the whole school. 
  • Maintaining good order and discipline amongst pupils, safeguarding their health and safety both on school premises and during authorised school activities elsewhere.
  • Planning and preparing courses and lessons to meet the learning needs of pupils in accordance with the objectives of Oxford House School. To attend assemblies and attending and leading after school clubs.
  • Participating in administrative and organisational tasks related to such duties as are described above, including the management or supervision of persons providing support for the teachers in the school and the ordering and allocation of equipment and materials.

Who we are looking for: 


To be considered for this role you will have Qualified Teacher Status and a Music Degree. We would also expect:

  • Knowledge of relevant Key Stages and National Curriculum requirements
  • Experience leading and organising musical events
  • Confident using ed-tech to support our music curriculum
  • High standard of English and Maths
