Job summary: To provide day-to-day quality childcare provision and support the Extended Services Manager in Extended Services which includes before and/or after school club and holiday scheme.
Hours: 15 or 20 hours per week (term time only) – Breakfast club 8.00am – 9.00am and/or Extended Day 3.00pm – 6.00pm Monday to Friday. Hours are negotiable to the successful candidate.
Willing to work in school holidays. This will include a different working pattern.
This is a fixed term post for a year due to a budgetary and staffing review.
The successful candidate should:
· Have an interest in the needs of children.
· Be able to lead a variety of activities including arts and crafts as well as indoor and outdoor games
· Be proactive and flexible.
· Use their own initiative to differentiate activities ensuring full inclusion for all abilities and ages.
· Establish and maintain positive working relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues.
· Administering first aid where necessary.
· Developing and maintaining good communication with all members of the community including parents/carers, children, Extended Services Manager, Headteacher and other organisations.
· Work within the framework of Albion Primary School’s policy and procedures and the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The ideal candidate will be either an experienced childcare practitioner or somebody with the right qualities who is keen to learn, who will engage and inspire the children through extra-curricular activities and learning outside the classroom and uphold the ethos and values of the school.
