Are you passionate about technology, data integrity, and helping schools thrive through efficient systems management? Join us as a PowerSchool MIS/Application Specialist to play a key role in supporting the education community by managing our PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS) and integrated applications.

About the Role:

As the PowerSchool MIS/Application Specialist, you will manage and maintain PowerSchool’s SIS and associated servers, databases, and integrations. You'll collaborate with leadership, IT, school administrators, teachers, and parents to maximize PowerSchool’s functionality and provide technical support and training. You’ll also manage third-party applications that integrate with PowerSchool, including PS Curriculum & Instruction, Schoology, MS Dynamics, and more.


Key Responsibilities:

PowerSchool System Administration:

  • Manage and configure PowerSchool SIS, including user roles, security, and custom modules.
  • Develop data management protocols to ensure accuracy, integrity, and security.
  • Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades in collaboration with IT.
  • Maintain PowerSchool’s Oracle Database, ensuring optimal performance.


Data Management & Reporting:

  • Design and generate reports, dashboards, and data extracts with PowerSchool and Power BI.
  • Prepare academic and attendance reports, KHDA regulatory reports, and GPA-calculated transcripts.
  • Use SQL and data analysis to support decision-making and compliance needs.


Training & Support:

  • Provide technical support to users, including administrators, teachers, and staff.
  • Conduct training sessions and create documentation to promote effective use of PowerSchool.


System Integration & Collaboration:

  • Integrate PowerSchool with other systems, such as Schoology, Seesaw, ClassLink, and BrightArrow.
  • Manage data synchronization and resolve integration issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors to support seamless fee collection through integrated payment portals.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Proven experience with PowerSchool MIS administration.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong skills in APIs, SQL, .Net, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple demands, and manage interruptions professionally.
  • Experience in K-12 education systems is a plus.
