Godolphin is an independent school day and boarding school located in the heart of Salisbury, offering an outstanding education for students from 3-19. With an extraordinary legacy spanning nearly three hundred years, Godolphin provides an inspiring environment for learning, discovery and personal growth.

At Godolphin we take a holistic approach to education, emphasising curiosity, intellectual development, practical skills and critical thinking. Our progressive philosophy reflects our commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse educational environment that prepares students for the challenges and opportunities of modern society.

In an exciting development, Godolphin has recently transitioned to co-education, welcoming boys into our community. We believe this change will bring numerous benefits, including greater diversity of thought, enriched collaborative opportunities and better preparation for life beyond school.

Godolphin strives to cultivate a culture of excellence, empowering every student to explore their talents, broaden their perspectives, and unlock their full potential. Our core values - ambition, authenticity, courage, and kindness—are embedded in every aspect of school life forming the foundation of our empathetic and supportive culture. Our mission is to guide each student on their journey to adulthood, equipping them with the skills and resilience to face life’s challenges and make a positive impact on the world. Godolphin offers all young people the opportunity to explore and develop their own personal narratives.

Godolphin has a well-established reputation for academic excellence, achieving strong GCSE and A-level results year after year. Our curriculum offers rigour, breadth and challenge and is carefully tailored to suit the age, ability and aspirations of each student. We also offer a robust Scholarship Programme at 11+, 13+ and 16+ for those with exceptional talents and our excellent SEN provision ensures that all learners receive the support they need to achieve their best.

We play a high value on physical education, offering a range of activities to encourage participation, as sport plays a key role in promoting the happiness and wellbeing of our students.

Our Co-Curricular Programme is an essential part of our approach to student development, complementing academic and pastoral objectives.  In addition to programmes such as the Combined Cadet Force, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and Leiths School of Food and Wine, we provide countless opportunities for students to discover their talents, gain life skills, and build confidence.

Godolphin is a strong community, committed to providing exceptional pastoral care. Boarders and day students live together in the same houses, creating a genuine sense of belonging and community spirit.

Looking to the future, Godolphin is embracing co-education at Godolphin Prep from 2024 and at Godolphin Senior from 2025, reflecting our unwavering commitment to preparing students for life’s challenges and empowering them to make a lasting impact on the world.
