Job overview

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and outgoing Teaching Assistant to join our wonderful Pre-Prep department on a permanent, full-time or part-time basis starting as soon as possible from January 2024.

Successful applicants will be able to support the teaching staff to create a positive and nurturing environment that encourages exploration, creativity and independence. They will love being with young children, and demonstrate an ability to create caring relationships with them.

Essential attributes:

  • Ability to act on own initiative
  • The ability to support pupils with their understanding
  • Proven interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm and energy

Desirable attributes:

  • Previous experience working with young people
  • Education to degree level or equivalent qualification
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification
  • A strength in English, Mathematics or Science

Full-time hours of work: Mondays 08:00-17:00 and Tuesdays to Fridays 08:00 – 16:45 

Part-time hours of work: Mondays to Fridays 08:00 – 13:30

About The Harrodian School

The Harrodian School is a mixed, non-denominational all-through independent day school situated in Barnes, South West London. The Harrodian School was founded by Lady Eliana and Sir Alford Houston-Boswell and opened in 1993. The school’s original intake of 65 students has expanded to over 900 students from the ages of 4-18. It offers state-of-the-art facilities, including a music centre, drama studios and expansive grounds.
