Primary classroom teacher - Durres Campus

Albanian College Durres is situated on the beautiful Balkan coastline. Our school is ten years old and has a thriving primary section. We are seeking an experienced primary or elementary class teacher whose love of learning is second only to their love of teaching. Our international school is home to families from over thirty countries worldwide, but our language of instruction is English, and so fluency is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Delivery: Implement and adapt the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring alignment with state standards and educational goals.
• Instructional Strategies: Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and a sense of community.
• Assessment: Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Student Support: Provide individualized support to students who may be struggling academically or socially, and collaborate with specialists as needed.
• Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational practices.
• Extracurricular Involvement: Engage in school activities, events, and committees to foster a strong school community.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; teaching certification required.
• Experience in an elementary classroom setting preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Proficient in technology and educational software.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to engage in activities such as standing, walking, sitting, and lifting materials up to 25 pounds.
