St Andrews International School Bangkok is one of 88 schools in the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) family. We offer a British educational curriculum with an international perspective that begins in Nursery and leads up to IGCSE examinations in Year 11, and culminates with the International Baccalaureate Diploma after completing Year 13. We are an inclusive school that invites children from all backgrounds and abilities to participate in the educational offerings on our diverse campus.

Founded in 1997 on an attractive, conveniently located site, with excellent facilities and access to local transportation. Today we have more than 2,400 students over a Primary School and High School campus, representing some 68 nationalities ranging from Foundation Stage to Year 13. Our state-of-the-art High School campus (next to Ekkamai BTS) opened in August 2017 giving our students the benefit of world-class teaching and facilities.

As part of the NAE family of schools, we are delighted to be able to offer some unique collaborations with world-class establishments, including the Juilliard School of Performing Arts, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and UNICEF.

About the Role

At St. Andrews International School Bangkok, our teachers foster a warm and secure environment where every child feels known, valued, and inspired to learn. In our diverse and inclusive community, students from various backgrounds are encouraged to grow in confidence and meet challenges with enthusiasm. For children with limited English proficiency, our EAL Teacher plays a key role in enabling access to the UK curriculum and ensuring their full participation in school life.

The EAL Teacher assesses students’ language needs, creates tailored learning programs, and collaborates closely with class teachers to integrate language support into classroom activities. By delivering targeted lessons, they help students develop the skills needed to thrive academically and socially. Regular communication with parents, detailed progress reports, and active participation in planning sessions ensure a cohesive and student-centred approach.

Reporting to the Head of Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, the EAL Teacher plans and delivers lessons suited to each child’s age, ability, and stage of development. They are committed to professional growth, staying informed about best practices, and working collaboratively to ensure high standards of teaching, differentiation, and continuity across the school. A focus on thorough assessment, record-keeping, and participation in school-wide initiatives ensures that the learning experience is engaging and effective.

Beyond the classroom, the EAL Teacher is an integral part of the school community, supporting extracurricular activities, school events, and the House system. They also serve as an ambassador for St. Andrews in the local and global community.

Applicants should demonstrate a high level of English proficiency (IELTS band 8, CEFR C2, or equivalent) and have experience teaching English as a second or additional language. Candidates should have delivered the English National Curriculum to a whole class either in the UK or in another International school and hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. This is an opportunity to join a supportive and inspiring team, making a lasting impact on students in a vibrant international setting.
