Principal:   Mr. John Calvert

Located in the city of Hatyai in southern Thailand, Bloomsbury International School Hatyai is a co-educational International Independent School. Bloomsbury was founded in 2016 and offers a British style curriculum to both day and boarding students. Our Primary School is small with around 100 students, but this is expanding on a weekly basis due to our growing reputation. We are a caring, kind team committed to every student achieving their very best.

We have just received our full accreditation from CIS, one of only 20 schools in Thailand to achieve this.

Bloomsbury International School Hatyai, is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people in our care and wrequires all applicants to share this commitment. We follow recruitment practices that are aligned with the recommendations of the International Task Force on Child Protection. All appointments are subject to an interview, satisfactory professional references and checks of identity, criminal records and qualifications.

The Position

The new Head of Primary will take on a very important role in the continuing development of the school. The Primary department has gained a reputation for excellence within the local community, and we wish the new Headteacher to develop that good practice still further. The role will include continuing to develop and grow the school as we leave a period of uncertainty due to Covid19. The position involves organisation, leadership and the ability inspire and motivate within a committed team. It requires someone who has an excellent understanding of the English National Curriculum but who is flexible around building a wider curriculum including a vision for our commitment to Global Citizenship and equipping our students to live in an ever-changing world. It requires a skilled and experienced Primary practitioner who can recognise and support truly great teaching and learning. Someone who is always interested in making good, even better.

As a small school, all our leaders need to be  an integral part of the team. Our teachers and support staff are incredibly hardworking, dedicated and kind; they want a new Primary leader who is just like them. The Headteacher role is also front facing, so an ability to build relationships, work well and communicate with our community, of mainly Thai speaking parents, is also important.

The role is also combined with looking after our small Special Educational Needs department. We have recently strengthened our provision to ensure that the needs of our vulnerable learners are well met and we need someone to continue to develop this provision.

Therefore, the role would ideally suit someone who is a current Headteacher in a small school, someone who is a Deputy or Assistant Headteacher.  Perhaps,  even a particularly talented Key Stage leader of a large school  with SENDco experience.
