This is an exciting opportunity to take on the role of Primary Languages Lead at Reigate Grammar School Phnom Penh. This position plays a key role in the continued growth and success of our school as we establish ourselves on our purpose-built campus in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. We are a fully co-educational, all-through school, welcoming both Cambodian and international students from Early Years through to Sixth Form. Reigate Grammar School Phnom Penh (RGSPP) is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Primary Languages Lead to oversee and develop the languages curriculum across the primary phase. This role is accountable to the Senior Head of Languages and is responsible for ensuring high standards of teaching and learning in modern and native language instruction.

The successful candidate will lead the development of primary languages teaching, providing curriculum guidance, assessment strategies, and staff training. They will work closely with teachers to ensure that language lessons are engaging, age-appropriate, and accessible for all learners. They will also foster a love of languages through enrichment activities, cultural events, and cross-curricular initiatives.

As a valued member of the academic leadership team, the postholder will contribute to the academic, pastoral, and co-curricular life of the school, ensuring that language learning is a core strength within RGSPP’s primary curriculum.

• Skilled in curriculum design, differentiation, and assessment in language learning.

• Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage curriculum development, staff training, and language enrichment programmes.

• Committed to professional development and staying up to date with the latest trends in language education.

Qualifications & Experience

• A degree in Languages, Education, Linguistics, or a related field, with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., QTS).

• Experience leading or coordinating language teaching in a primary setting.

• A strong understanding of primary language frameworks and best practices.

• Experience in curriculum planning, assessment design, and data analysis.

• Familiarity with the British curriculum (EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2) and international best practices.

• Experience developing extracurricular language programmes such as language clubs, cultural festivals, or exchange programmes.
