Job overview
Starbank is a very large school which has been growing steadily since 2010. We were originally a split-site primary school and were rated outstanding when last inspected in 2012. In 2014 we became an all-through school, introducing a new secondary intake each year since September 2014. A brand new building was opened in September 2016 which can accommodate 900 secondary students in addition to 420 of our primary pupils.
In total there are around 1400 primary pupils from Nursery up to Y6. These are spread over our three primary sites so each site is effectively like a 2fe primary school. Two of the sites have a Nursery. I have three staff going on maternity leave around Easter but all the posts advertised can be permanent for the right candidate. The most urgent needs for April are in Y3 and Y5 though I will also need someone in Nursery. In September new staff could be in a different year group. There is a lot of flexibility so all applicants welcome.
We would like to appoint several more outstanding teachers to our primary department. Expectations are high so you need to be up for the challenge. The post is open to all, from NQTs to people with lots of experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person.
If you have evidence of successful teaching and feel you have the character and moral purpose to really improve children's futures please download the further information. Visits are welcomed and can be arranged via email to g.hudson@starbank.bham.sch.uk or text/phone to 07545 501205. Closing date: Monday 5 February.
Starbank School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants. Successful applicant(s) will need to provide evidence of their Identity and Right to Work in the UK.
