Astrea Academy Trust is looking for an experienced senior leader to become the new Principal of Netherwood Academy, an 11- 16 academy in Barnsley. The school has been on an impressive journey of improvement and as the current Headteacher retires, Netherwood Academy is now primed for its next leader. Astrea Academy Netherwood is an 11-16 secondary academy located in Wombwell, a short distance from both the A1 and M1, and set in extensive, modern grounds.

At Astrea Academy Netherwood, we are looking for people to join an academy which has improved rapidly over the past 5 years, culminating in an Ofsted overall effectiveness grade of Good.

This has been the result of significant changes in terms of curriculum development, teaching and learning, personal development and behavioural culture.
