Job overview

The pupils and staff at Oriel Academy West London are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and creative Principal who fosters our sense of belonging and strives to ensure that each and every one of us is challenged and supported to reach our full potential. We would like our Principal to develop a clear vision and lead exciting, engaging and purposeful learning, who is as committed to inclusion as we are, has high expectations and the ability to contribute fully to the life of our Academy.

Our Principal should have the self-motivation, enthusiasm and commitment to drive standards even further within our Academy, work well as part of a team and be an excellent role model for us all. Above all, our Principal should have pupils at the heart of all they do.

In return, we can offer a vibrant school that is well resourced; a happy, friendly and supportive staff team; a commitment to professional development and eager, well behaved pupils who want to do their best. We can offer strong collaboration and support from the 16 academies within our Trust and high levels of Facilities, HR and Finance support.

We pride ourselves on providing a nurturing environment, in which pupils from all backgrounds feel included and able to take part in enriching learning experiences.

At Oriel we offer the opportunity for innovative and targeted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities that reflect the schools and your individual needs. As part of the Aspirations Academies Trust, staff can expect not only to receive first class training opportunities but can also expect opportunities to extend their professional skills and career portfolio. We want staff joining us to experience the professional thrill of growing as teachers and leaders.

Please also see the Job Description and Person Specification for more information about the position.

The role combines strategic academic leadership with operational oversight, focusing on curriculum development, staff recruitment and development, and establishing robust systems for teaching and learning.

If you have any questions about the position, your application or would like to arrange a visit to the Academy our Acting Vice Principal Michael Hogan will be happy to help. Please contact Michael Hogan via the school office on 0208 894 9395 or by email mhogan@oriel-aspirations.org

About Oriel Academy West London

Oriel Academy became an Aspirations Academy back in 2013 and we are very proud of our school and its achievements.

Being part of a family of schools we offer many opportunities that enrich our pupils' education and will help the school go on from being a ‘good’ school to become a truly ‘Outstanding’ academy!

Key to our journey is the continuing development of the Aspirations philosophy in our school and our wider community. As an Aspirations Academy, we will help our pupils develop an understanding of their real potential and help them to gain the tools that they will need as they grow to realise their full potential.

In other words to ‘To be able to dream about the future, while being inspired in the present to reach those dreams'
