International Community Schools Abu Dhabi is seeking a dedicated and experienced Principal who will play a pivotal role in driving the school’s vision, fostering a culture of educational excellence, and supporting the holistic development of students. The Principal will lead a diverse team of educators and administrative staff, ensuring the delivery of an innovative and rigorous curriculum that meets both local and international standards. The role requires a dynamic leader who is capable of managing the operational aspects of the school while nurturing a positive learning environment for students and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement the school’s strategic plans, aligning educational goals with the broader mission and vision of International Community Schools.
  • Foster a forward-thinking educational environment that embraces innovation, best practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the school’s leadership team in setting priorities, monitoring progress, and achieving short- and long-term objectives.

Academic Leadership:

  • Oversee curriculum design, development, and implementation to ensure it meets international and national education standards.
  • Implement data-driven strategies to monitor student performance and progression, ensuring measurable academic success and growth.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop innovative teaching methodologies that promote active learning, critical thinking, and creativity.
  • Support the development and integration of extracurricular activities, student enrichment programs, and interdisciplinary projects.

Faculty & Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and retain high-quality faculty and administrative staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for staff, offering constructive feedback and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture that values diversity and continuous learning.
  • Oversee staff schedules, workload distribution, and ensure effective staff-to-student ratios.

Student Well-being & Development:

  • Ensure a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where students are encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Implement and support systems to address students' emotional, social, and behavioral needs.
  • Promote and uphold student behavior policies that foster mutual respect, responsibility, and community values.
  • Actively engage with students, promoting leadership, ethical behavior, and a commitment to service.

Community Engagement & Parental Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and community members, maintaining positive and open communication channels.
  • Foster partnerships with parents and guardians to ensure the collective responsibility of student development and success.
  • Promote the school’s reputation within the local and international communities through effective communication, community outreach, and representation at events.

School Operations & Resource Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the school runs smoothly, efficiently, and complies with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and manage the school’s budget, ensuring financial sustainability while prioritizing educational resources.
  • Ensure the maintenance and improvement of school facilities, safety protocols, and technological infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the school board and Director of Education on major policy decisions and strategic planning.

Compliance & Accreditation:

  • Ensure the school complies with local educational laws, regulatory requirements, and international accreditation standards.
  • Lead the accreditation processes, ensuring continuous adherence to high educational standards.
  • Regularly review and update school policies, ensuring alignment with best practices and changing educational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field (required).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in a school environment, with at least 3 years as a Principal or Vice-Principal.
  • International Experience: Experience in an international school or a multicultural educational setting is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of local UAE educational laws and international curriculum standards (e.g., IB, British, American).
