The British International School, Phuket (BISP) is seeking an experienced and inspiring Secondary School Principal to join our leadership team. BISP is a leading day and boarding school, serving students aged 2-18 from the international community in the Asia-Pacific region. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the continued success of our Secondary School by leading its educational, pastoral, and operational functions.


Key Responsibilities:

# Ensure high standards of teaching and learning in the Secondary School, in alignment with the school's mission, values, and strategic plan.

# Oversee curriculum planning, implementation, and review, ensuring a smooth transition from Primary to Secondary School.

# Lead the Secondary Leadership Team and facilitate collaboration with other senior leaders.

# Manage the academic and pastoral care of students, ensuring their holistic development and wellbeing.

# Work closely with the Extended Curriculum Coordinator to oversee extracurricular programmes and the Head of Boarding to manage boarding operations.

# Ensure that all student reports, communications with families, and school events are aligned with the school's standards of excellence.

# Oversee the recruitment, professional development, and performance management of Secondary staff.

# Manage the academic budget and resources for the Secondary School.

# Maintain strong relationships with the wider community, including partnerships with parents and external stakeholders.


Qualifications and Experience:

+ A proven track record in a senior leadership role, preferably within an international school setting.

+ Strong experience in teaching and learning, ideally with experience in the IGCSE and IBDP curricula.

+ A collaborative leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage with staff, students, and parents effectively.

+ A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in line with our school’s child protection standards.

+ A forward-thinking leader, passionate about student wellbeing and the holistic development of young people.
