Job overview

Wemms Education Centre is a specialist independent school for approximately 110 pupils situated on a wonderfully spacious site in Long Ditton, Surrey. The founding Principal, Joy Wemms, has recently announced her intention to step back due to ill health but will retain a position on the Board of Trustees. Consequently, an individual of the highest personal integrity and professional calibre is sought to lead the next chapter of this unique school from January or April 2024.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a genuine rapport with young people who have a range of differing academic and pastoral needs, an ability to inspire and unite key stakeholders within a school community as well as a healthy sense of humour, resilience and perspective.

Please see attached job description and person specification for further information.

If you possess the qualities above, we should be delighted to receive an application from you. Informal visits to the school site are available by arrangement prior to the closing date and can be expedited by emailing Emma Turner, Business Manager, at: EmmaT@wemms.co.uk

Please note that all applications should be sent electronically to the Chief Executive, Duncan Murphy, together with a covering letter which articulates your interest and suitability for the role in further detail: Duncan@wemms.co.uk

Start date:       January or April 2024

Wemms Education Centre is committed to ensuring the welfare and safeguarding of its pupils.
