The Role
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to work with the Centre Lead to establish a new educational experience for our young people. Provision 360 is a new and unique initiative for the students of Paxman Academy and St Helena School. The centre will be based within the grounds of St Helena and will provide full time education for 12 students from across the two schools. This educational offer will be a combination of a traditional curriculum offer using subject specialists to deliver English, Maths and Science and a unique bespoke personalised curriculum for the students complimenting their interests and needs.
This role is 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (term time plus two additional weeks to prepare, this includes non-pupil days).
Job Purpose
To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for various programmes under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes and monitoring students and assessing, recording and reporting on students’ achievement, progress and development.
Other Information
This position will start in September 2023 and suit an experienced colleague who has a good understanding of inclusive education and/or high quality alternative provision. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Support for Students
- Assess the needs of students and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support students’ learning
- Establish productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
Support for Teaching Staff
- Organise and manage appropriate learning environment and resources
- Provide objective and accurate feedback and reports as required on student achievement, progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence
- Record progress and achievement in lessons/activities systematically and providing evidence of range and level of progress and attainment
Support for the Centre
- Comply with and assist with the development of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting concerns to an appropriate person
- Be aware of and support difference and ensure all students have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
