Job Title: PSHE and Careers Lead

Location: Dibden Park School, Southampton 

Salary:    Up to £33,600 depending on qualifications and experience

Hours:   40 hours per week; Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only plus 5 training days. 

UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a PSHE and Careers Lead to join our close-knit team at Dibden Park School located in Southampton.

About the role

Dibden Park School is a specialist independent school which provides education, care and therapy for young people aged 8-18 with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) fir Social Emotional and Mental health (SEMH) needs, ASC or related conditions.

You will need to have (or demonstrate willingness to develop):

  • experience of working with pupils and young people
  • an understanding of SEN
  • ability to quickly build relationships with challenging pupils
  • be able to work on your own initiative 

Duties and responsibilities 

  • To deliver PSHE and Careers education for KS3/4 pupils
  • To collate evidence of impact and present to external bodies
  • To encourage pupils in personal development, achievement and integrations into Dibden Park School
  • To support out of classroom activities as part of a board and varied curriculum
  • To ensure Child Protection and Safeguarding is paramount importance 
  • Follow procedures for accident, illness, absconding and absence for pupils and to adhere to all schools policies 
  • Contribute to any meetings that are called for the education and welfare of pupils
  • Attend department, behaviour whole school staff meetings
  • To conduct any reasonable duties as directed by the Assistant Head or their representatives

Dibden Park School is a brand-new school based in SouthamptonDibden Park School will place 60 students and will cater to students with social and emotional mental health and other complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to grow and develop with a new staff team in a newly established independent special school.
