About Us
We are Qualifications Wales, the independent organisation responsible for regulating general and vocational qualifications in Wales. We focus on publicly funded qualifications, including GCSEs, A-Levels and vocational qualifications.
We’re currently looking for Qualifications Managers to join us on a full-time basis. Requests for alternative working patterns, including part-time and job shares, may be discussed at interview. We have seven opportunities available on a permanent basis with one fixed-term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. We would be interested in considering applications for a secondment opportunity of up to two years for all roles, with the possibility of permanency.

The Role
As a Qualifications Manager, you will manage, develop and deliver projects and programmes of work relating to the review and reform of vocational and technical qualifications.
Creating a schedule for the implementation of projects and activities, you’ll ensure objectives are delivered on time, within budget and in line with quality and legal requirements.
Additionally, you will:
- Lead and manage a small team of staff
- Review and analyse complex evidence
- Develop an understanding of statutory duties, policies, criteria, conditions and guidance
- Build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders
About You
To be considered as a Qualifications Manager, you will need:
- Experience working at a management level in a regulatory, qualifications development or quality assurance context
- Experience in the qualifications, education or training sectors
- Experience managing projects
- Experience engaging and negotiating with a wide range of stakeholders
- An understanding of the approaches to the development, review, regulation and/or quality assurance of qualifications and/or education programmes
- The ability to communicate complex information clearly
Fluency in Welsh would be beneficial to your application. We aim to appoint at least one fluent Welsh speaker for these roles.
