Salary: Pay scale D points 5 to 6

£18,763 to £19,077 (FTE 23,500 to £23,893)

34.50 per week, Term time + 1 week (39 weeks per year).

Monday to Friday 8.20am to 4.00pm (50min/35min)

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Raising achievement mentor (Literacy/SEND). In this role, you will play a key part in improving the overall literacy levels of our student body by developing and implementing tailored literacy programs that cater to diverse learning needs. You will work collaboratively with teachers to integrate literacy strategies into the curriculum, supporting students across all ability levels to enhance their reading, writing, and comprehension skills.

About the role:

A key focus of the role will be on supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will work closely with our SEND team to design inclusive literacy interventions and provide targeted support to help these students thrive. Your efforts will ensure that students with SEND have equitable access to literacy development opportunities, fostering both academic success and confidence in their learning."

 Requirements:

·      Qualified to Level 2, C / 4 or above in English.

·      Ability to build effective relationships with student s and staff.

·      An understanding of the social, emotional, and intellectual development of teenagers.

·      Have an understanding of working with different groups e.g., the most able, the disadvantaged and SEND.
