Job overview

Pentland Field School is an all-through school that meets the educational needs of around 170 children and young adults aged 4-19 with a range of learning disabilities, including those who may be autistic and those who have physical or sensory needs.

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and proactive Receptionist/Admin Assistant to join our Admin Team. We are looking for someone excited about the idea of working in a school environment for children with special needs and who wants to bring their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to play an active part in our school community.

You can find out more about our school and the work we do with children and families here https://pentlandfieldschool.co.uk/

The Receptionist is the face of the school and first point of contact for visitors to the school, parents, staff and children. As the ‘face’ of the School the receptionist should be welcoming, personable, helpful and able to represent the School in a professional and friendly manner.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a team player.
  • Has exceptional organisational, administrative and ICT skills.
  • Works well and remains calm under pressure.
  • Has a ‘can do’ attitude and able to use their initiative.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience of working in a dynamic front facing environment and can demonstrate a positive, flexible attitude to their work.

We can offer you:

  • A warm, friendly and approachable senior leadership team.
  • A well organised and effective administration team.
  • A committed and knowledgeable wider staff community who are willing to share their knowledge of children with learning disabilities with anyone who has a desire to learn.
  • A comprehensive induction programme for new staff, followed by access to continuous professional development.
  • Teams across the school who work collaboratively, and who want to see other people succeed.
  • A commitment to the wellbeing of staff and pupils, including staff led wellbeing initiatives, and free access to a staff wellbeing app offering a range of wellbeing and medical guidance and care.
  • Part of a dynamic special school multi-academy trust, with opportunities for career development.
  • Excellent transport links, by road or public transport. The nearest underground station is a 5 min walk from the school, and you can be in central London within 20 minutes.

If you are interested in joining our team and would like to talk to someone before you apply, please call us on 01895 609120 and ask to speak with Baldeep Chana, Office Manager.

Closing date: Monday 7th October 2024 at 9am

Further information: We reserve the right to close applications earlier and arrange interviews accordingly.
