Job Title: Receptionist

Responsible to: HR Officer

Salary: Grade D, £23,114 - £23,893 per annum, term time only, pro rata

Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, term time only

Start Date: November/December 2024

 Main job purpose:

To support the school as part of our reception team, welcoming visitors, pupils and staff whilst providing administrative support throughout the school. Being an ambassador for the school, embodying the values, vision and ethos of the school in all interactions.

Main responsibilities:

  • Providing a reception service for parents, pupils and staff.
  • Writing, proof reading and editing school letters as required.
  • Typing correspondence and documents as directed.
  • Issuing visitors with correct passes ensuring that safeguarding policy is adhered to.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls, redirecting or taking messages as necessary.
  • Administering first aid and complete the accident book/accident forms, to call an ambulance if required, to attend to pupils who are unwell and telephone their parents as necessary.
  • Assisting with fire and emergency procedures.
  • Managing lost property and confiscated items.
  • Basic data input using School Information Management systems (SIMS).
  • Logging pupil attendance, inputting pupil registers when required.
  • Assisting with attendance administration.
  • Filing, photocopying and scanning of documents.
  • Replenishment and management of photocopiers in all staff area.
  • Handling outgoing post and distributing incoming mail.
  • Assisting with break and lunch time supervision of pupils if required.
