A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to work within GORSE SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training), an integral part of Leeds Teaching School Hub, in this important and stimulating role, as GORSE SCITT further develops its outstanding provision.
The intention of this role is to ensure the day-to-day running of all processes surrounding the recruitment of trainee teachers to the SCITT programme. Recruitment of trainee teachers to GORSE SCITT is an integral part of the day-to-day success of the SCITT. Since 2013, GORSE SCITT has trained and supported into employment more than 2000 teachers. We are an outstanding provider of Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and we receive a large number of applications from candidates wishing to train with us. As a result of this, we interview and recruit weekly, meaning that recruitment is a full-time, ongoing activity needing the highest level of administration.
You should be incredibly organised, efficient, personable and committed. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to take their career to the next step in a dynamic organisation.
The ideal applicant will have:
- English and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) GCSE level.
- Experience of working in an office environment.
- Good time management skills, including the ability to work to deadlines.

About us:
Over the past ten years, GORSE SCITT has trained over 2000 trainee teachers across all subjects and in both primary and secondary phases. It is one of the largest teacher training centres in the country. In 2023 GORSE SCITT was once again recognised as an Outstanding provider by Ofsted, supplying the life-blood of teachers within schools across our region. Our training programme ensures that our trainees are exceptionally well-prepared for successful careers in teaching, making an impact on young people’s lives for the better, particularly for those whose lives are characterised by privation. We train around 200 trainee teachers each year from EYFS through to Post-16.
