Job Description:
We are now looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Religious Education Teacher with a philosophy/ theology degree to help us deliver outstanding educational opportunities and outstanding outcomes for all of our pupils. Reporting to the Head of Department, key responsibilities including:
- Plan and deliver engaging RE lessons that meet curriculum standards
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback, maintaining accurate records of achievements and progress
- Support students’ spiritual and moral development
- Foster a positive learning atmosphere that encourages participation and respect
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and ensure a safe, supportive learning space
- Meet the expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards

Person Specification:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Required
- Right to work in the UK – Required
- Degree in Theology, Religious Education, or a related field – Required
- Experience teaching RE at secondary school level - Desirable
- Enhanced DBS – Required, if you do not already have one, one will need to be issued before your start date

St Aloysius’ College was founded in 1879 by the Brothers of Mercy as a Roman Catholic Independent School, then passed to the De La Salle Brothers in 1960. St Aloysius’ College is privileged to be the oldest surviving foundation of its kind in the Archdiocese of Westminster.
Today, St Aloysius’ College is a comprehensive 11-18 Roman Catholic boys school and is proud of its Catholic tradition.
