Role Summary: 

The Reprographics Technician will provide full and efficient reprographic support to all teaching and support staff and manages and oversees the Reprographics room daily. The postholder will fulfil all requests for printing and copying submitted by staff in a timely manner to meet any deadlines set. In addition, ensuring that equipment in the Reprographics Room and the fleet of copiers across the College Centres are maintained in a good working order, including arranging for any necessary repairs to be undertaken by specialist contractors, and manages the supply and stock levels of all consumables required for printing and copying.


Key Responsibilities

  • Photocopy materials for College use including internal examination papers and other booklets and leaflets as required
  • Finish copied items by trimming, binding or laminating
  • Monitor the progress of the copying run and quality check samples
  • Care and maintenance of resources equipment and ensuring that the department remains organised
  • Ensure that the Reprographics room is kept in a clean and tidy manner, ensuring that all Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to.
  • Organise service and repair of equipment by liaising with outside agencies
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and cleaning
  • Dealing with enquiries.
  • Ensuring Copyright legislation is adhered to at all times
  • Staff training on use of multi-functional devices
  • Production of signs/notices etc as required using Desk top publishing programmes
  • Supporting other members of the Central Reprographic Team with admin duties if required.
  • Responsibility for timely and accurate preparation, storage, maintenance and use of specialist equipment/resources/materials
  • Stock control and ordering resources for the department
  • Health and safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
  • Be aware of and support difference and ensure equal opportunities for all · Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the College
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
  • Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.



Person Specification: 


· Desirable Experience General Reprographic/Copier

·  Experience of working in an educational environment

· Qualifications/ Training

·  Good numeracy/literacy skills. 





Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • Having a good understanding of Microsoft Office products with an ability to use relevant technologies e.g. photocopiers print finishing equipment
  • Keyboard computer skills
  • Able to work on own initiative and plan workload and meet deadlines
  • Able to keep calm in difficult situations Creativity: ability to design resources, displays, posters etc.
  • Good communication skills both verbally and written
  • Self-evaluative; willingness to participate in development and training opportunities
  • Ability to relate well to students, staff and external organisations
  • Work constructively as part of a team, understanding College roles and responsibilities and your own position within these

Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.

The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options. 

Being that working/living in Liverpool does offer a wide range of experiences to have. Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known. Or if just unwinding and relaxing there are multiple pubs/bars, restaurants, and comedy nights to enjoy.
