Location: Cambridge, Hybrid 

Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 35 Hours Per Week

As a Research Integrity Advisor (Operations and Analytics), you will ensure the highest standards in research and publication ethics by triaging and investigating cases, advising on publishing ethics support requests, and driving operational excellence in publication integrity within the team and beyond.  

You'll be a core part of the growing Publishing Ethics and Research Integrity team, and the go-to person for utilizing data analysis and reporting to support research integrity investigations, monitoring, and process improvements. You will also provide day to day support for the smooth operation and optimization of integrity tools, and our case management system and database.


About the role  

As Research Integrity Advisor, you will:

  • Investigate and advise colleagues and external editors on publication ethics cases. 
  • Lead the analysis and reporting of research integrity data to support investigations and provide actionable insights. 
  • Manage the use of research integrity tools, ensuring efficient operation, troubleshooting, user support, and process enhancements. 
  • Support the team's use of ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk), continuously improving workflows for managing research integrity cases. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed best practices in research integrity across publishing operations, aligning with academic and ethical standards. 

About you

You will have: 

  • A solid understanding of publishing ethics and experience with research integrity tools (e.g., plagiarism checkers) and reporting (e.g. peer review system outputs). 
  • Strong data analysis skills, with experience in using various tools and systems to combine datasets, build reports, and provide insights (coding in R or Python not essential, but a plus). 
  • In depth knowledge of publishing processes and systems, particularly in research integrity, peer review, or production environments. 
  • Strong, clear, communication skills, including of complex or nuanced concepts. 
  • Excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and tasks. 
  • An innovative mindset, looking to drive improvements in workflows and operations for research integrity.
