About this Role


The Safeguarding Officer will work closely with the schools designated safeguarding leads and safeguarding team, as well as all Grampian Primary Academy staff, to ensure the effective implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures across the academy. 


The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant and recent experience in a safeguarding related role, including in dealing with Child Protection concerns and the safeguarding of vulnerable children. They will have a good working knowledge of relevant safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance, including the Prevent Duty.  The role will be diverse so you will need to be able to “juggle” multiple priorities.


You will provide advice, guidance and support for pupils and staff to plan and implement interventions and support where appropriate.  You will also need to keep up to date with your own personal development with the safeguarding sphere so that you are confident and able to deliver safeguarding training to academy staff.


To be successful for this role you will need to have significant experience and training in managing safeguarding ideally with some educational experience.  Safeguarding training and experience within social care, and wider inclusion would also be desirable.


You will need to be adaptable, hardworking and committed to safeguarding children.  You will be a good communicator and able to build and sustain appropriate relationships and manage personal and professional boundaries with children and families.

Grampian Primary Academy caters for approximately 240 pupils, aged 3 to 11. It is situated in spacious grounds which the children enjoy in both their learning and leisure time.
