North Star Community Trust is a Charitable Trust set up to run and manage three Primary and one Secondary Academy serving approximately 2600 children. We are focused on driving up the quality of education provision and standards. Our Academies are situated within Enfield, applicants that have a community language or knowledge and experience of working within a busy inner city environment will be welcome.

Working as an intricate part of the team, the successful candidate will support with safeguarding and child protection issues, assisting the Education Welfare Officer with matters arising in the Trust schools (predominantly primaries but working within the secondary as required) and supporting all other staff in dealing with any safeguarding and child protection concerns that arise. You will provide a specialist service to assist the Trust in meeting our obligations and targets in relation to school attendance, especially persistent absence. 

The Role: The successful candidate will:

• Support safeguarding and child protection issues across the Trust’s schools.
• Assist the Education Welfare Officer with school-related matters.
• Work mainly with primary schools but also within the secondary school as required.
• Provide specialist services to meet our obligations related to school attendance, particularly persistent absence.
• Support all staff in handling safeguarding and child protection concerns.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in safeguarding and child protection.
• Familiarity with a busy inner-city environment.
• Knowledge of a community language is advantageous.
