Al Futtaim Education Foundation is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team in Dubai Festival City. This vital role involves managing the school’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing precise financial insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting background, preferably within the education sector, along with excellent analytical skills and a collaborative approach to supporting the school’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and accounts payable/receivable.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, reports, and budgets in line with school policies and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts and financial transactions.
- Oversee payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries and benefits.
- Assist in creating annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to local financial regulations and internal policies.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation.
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Offer financial guidance and support to various school departments and staff.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of financial policies and procedures.
· Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable/receivable, including reconciliations and accruals.
- Maintaining petty cash, booking invoices, reconciliation/disbursement and top-up of petty cash in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g.,CPA, ACCA) preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in an educational or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, VAT, CIT, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
- High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
