Job overview

Eastbrook school is an increasingly popular and rapidly improving ‘all through’ school in Dagenham. In December 2021, Ofsted recognised this by awarding us a ‘Good’ judgement. As we embark on the next phase of our journey to ‘Outstanding’, we are looking for a hardworking, inspirational and visionary candidate to become our School Business Manager and join our exceptional leadership team at an exciting point in the school’s development.

Our vision - At Eastbrook we believe that a truly outstanding school is one that enables all pupils to achieve their best. One where academic attainment is high, and the academic progress of individuals is maximised. It is a place where all pupils acquire the character virtues that lead to success in school and university, in work and life beyond.

We are looking for School Business Manager to join our senior leadership team. This will be someone who shares this relentless drive, with an uncompromising dedication to modelling high expectations and belief in our mission.

In return, you will find a happy school. An Eastbrook Student thinks for themselves and acts for others. They are inquiring, knowledgeable, caring and strive to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and mutual respect and tolerance of each other.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and committed School Business Manager to join our team to provide strategic budget oversight of revenue and capital funding. They will be responsible for the efficient financial management of all aspects of the school (primary, secondary and sixth form), including policies, systems and processes, and hold responsibility for financial compliance and reporting.

This will include the development, implementation and maintenance of school financial procedures and systems, ensuring that all legal and governance requirements are met. The successful applicant will also lead and manage the strategic and day-to-day financial controls, administration, monitoring and reporting systems to underpin the services and activities of the school.

The successful applicant will have substantial experience of working in a similar role, have excellent organisational skills, and a high attention to detail. They will be forward-thinking with the passion and skills to build on the achievements of our school, acting as a driver for further improvement and efficiency. Someone who will have a great track record of evidence informed strategies which demonstrate strong impact and who is relentless in the pursuit of excellence.

If this describes you, we would love to hear from you.

Aside from the opportunity to transform the life chances of our students, working at Eastbrook School brings many benefits. These include:

·        A huge investment in personal development and the opportunity to take part in the NPQ programme at senior level

·        Strategies to look after your work-life balance and wellbeing

·        A fantastic, state of the art campus with first rate facilities including amenities such as a gym, ample free parking and secure cycle storage

·        Good connections with public transport.

·        A supportive Governing Body and school community

If you wish to discuss the nature of the role prior to making an application please inform Lin Southan (SBM) that you would like to speak to Avani Higgins (Headteacher) and we will arrange this.

In line with expected safeguarding requirements, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS Check. Please visit our website to find out more about us - www.eastbrookschool.org
