About the School
Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi will be a UK curriculum day school enrolling students from Early Years to Year 13 in the city’s prestigious residential district Al Reem Island, opposite the new Sorbonne University campus. Our new school will have capacity for 2,600 students upon completion. Its first phase of development, opening in September 2023, will include the Early Years building and sports facilities, while the second phase opening in Summer 2024 will include the main Primary and Secondary classrooms.
About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional School Counsellor who will advocate, manage, and commit to improving the lives of young people in need of help and support within the school community. Day-to-day the role will involve various social service activities such as one-to-one sessions with students, undertaking and writing up assessments, offering information and counselling support to pupils and their families, maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for relevant legislation and procedures.
You will be an excellent communicator, who gets on well with colleagues, students and parents. Amongst other things, you will be well organised and want to participate fully in the extra-curricular aspects of school life.
You will be keen to collaborate and share your specialist skills, knowledge and experience and will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience;
- University Degree holder with specialisations in Psychology/Social Work
- Experience of not less than 2 years within the same field
- Exceptional communication skills
- In depth experience in school counselling and social services activities
- Excellent proven record of working with young people, families and healthcare specialists
- Knowledge of the current English National Curriculum and associated assessment methods is desirable
Selection Process
Applicants should submit a CV, letter of application and the details of two professional referees, one of which should be your current Line Manager.
