VISS- Tawuun currently has a full-time opportunity for an experienced School /Counsellor working full-time in a school environment
The successful candidate will join our Well-being team in the Secondary school to provide counseling within the Secondary School to students experiencing psychological, social, behavioural, or emotional difficulties. The role is predominately a secondary school position however from time to time the Counsellor’s expertise may be required in the ELC and Primary school to support the leadership and well-being teams.

Essential to the role:
- Qualification in a relevant discipline with a Bachelor’s minimum
- Provide individual and group counseling to students with identified concerns and needs
- Ideally have a minimum of 2-3 years of counseling experience in a school setting
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Experience working with or having a good understanding of students and children aged 5-18
- To consult and collaborate effectively with parents, academic teams, and external sources regarding students with identified needs and concerns
- A genuine passion for working with school-aged students
- Review and advise on an effective referral and follow-up process
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach
- Contribute to the effective wellbeing goals of the school
- Understanding the religious and cultural context in the region
- Ability to give attention to detail as in record keeping and careful follow-up
- To be professional with high ethics when working with staff, students, and their families
- Any duties deemed essential to the role
