Salary range:CI$57,192 - CI $74,772 per annum

The school inclusion specialist teacher at the Therapeutic Behaviour Centre (TBC) takes day-to-day responsibility for the planning and teaching of a cohesive and personalised programme of learning activities and therapeutic interventions for TBC students, whilst maintaining general good order and discipline to achieve the highest possible standards and outcomes for the students placed with the Primary or Secondary Therapeutic Behaviour Centres (Intervention Centres/IC).

*Required qualifications and experience include the following: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or have demonstrable evidence of a wide range of professional training or experience in working with students with SEBD.
  • Be a qualified teacher with a minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience in more than one key stage.
  • Have recent successful experience of delivering educational provision and managing difficult behaviour within a Pupil Referral Unit/SEBD school/unit setting.
  • Have a strong record of achievement in working with students with significant learning/behavioural challenges and delivering strategies to support behaviour management.
  • Possess excellent communications skills, with the ability to liaise with a wide range of services, agencies and individuals in order to meet the needs of students.
  • Proficient in the use of IT applications within the class room, prepare reports and assessments.
  • As this post may require individuals to carry out physical interventions with students who are placing themselves or others at risk, it will be expected that the post holder is physically able to carry out these duties.

The remuneration package for the successful candidate is offered without deductions. The Cayman Islands Government provides an additional 12% pension contribution and 100% health insurance coverage for the employee and their dependents.
